The “Tread Push”

Everyone has used the treadmill for sprints, back pedaling, shuffling etc… And there are so many other types of treadmills that can crush you, such as the Tred-Sled:

or even free movements like the Prowler.

But for most of us, especially in New York City, we either don’t have the space or the gym doesn’t carry these amazing pieces of equipment. However what most do have is a shitty treadmill and you can definitely get a great conditioning workout with this by doing a “Tread Push”:

How To:

  • Unlock the magnet or “Safety” to release the wheel
  • Lean
  • Push and SPRINT!

Notes:

  • I’d generally keep the sprint to 10sec and below, it’s pretty brutal, so build up to it.
  • This may void warranty so do this under your discretion.
  • If an “error” message comes up, usually if you just unplug it, the treadmill should reset itself and be fine.
