As a personal trainer and performance coach in NYC I’m always looking for simple light weight equipment thats versatile, effective, and LIGHT since I have to carry most things. So I thought I’d share this simple yet very overlooked tool, the “Jump Stretch Band”

I’m a HUGE fan of band stretches and the example below is so simple to do and effective that everyone should have it in their warm up, post workout, or regeneration sessions.

No lie, I think this stretch is probably one of the best hamstring stretches you can do on your own. If you do it right you’ll feel an IMMEDIATE difference.

All you need is something sturdy to attach it to and a jump stretch band. In the video I use this:

Mini Band

It’s about $16 for 2 bands and definitely worth the buy.

Key notes:

  • Let the band pull your leg (femur) back, this will intensify the stretch.
  • You don’t need to use a prop, you can also just reach for the ground.
  • Move around to “feel” where your body is tight and work off of those responses.

Give it a shot and let us know how you like it.

Stay strong,
