I’m a big fan of medicine ball drills for power. This week I’d like to go over the simple yet extremely effective exercise: “Medicine Ball Chest Pass”. Whether you’re a NYC personal trainer working with a general fat loss client to a sports performance coach working with an elite level athlete, this drill is useful across the board.

The personal training and sports performance training field has many young up and coming professionals, especially in New York City. Unfortunately these young personal trainers have been mentored by unqualified trainers or through “YouTube”… This is where unprofessionalism becomes very apparent.
Being a personal trainer in NYC, I’ve dealt with many types of clients from weight-loss, weight gain, performance training, analytical, neurotic, etc… So to say the least I’ve been shot with many types of questions through out their process of achieving their goals. And you want to know what the commonality between successfully obtaining your goals, whether it be weight loss, athletic performance, gaining lean muscle mass is?
Being a NYC personal trainer I deal with a lot of weight-loss and “physique transformation” clients, inevitable the hot topic generally comes to protein powder. Even with my sports performance training athletes they ask the common question, “what type of protein should I take?”

NYC personal trainers and sports performance coaches use the “Box Jump” as a tool to help with power. The box can be a very useful tool that’ll force the athlete to get X height and generate a specific amount of force. The problem I’ve come across is that the “Box Jump” is now being abused, you’ll see guys landing in an awkward position
